There will be a DUI and License Checkpoint in Fremont, this Friday, July 24, 2015. The DUI checkpoint will take place beginning at 7 PM and continue through 2 AM. The exact location is not known but it appears there will be several checkpoints set up throughout the city.
Officers will be checking drivers for signs of intoxication, and also checking for proper licensing for drivers. The officers are aiming to delay drivers only momentarily.
If you are caught drviing under the influence at this checkpoint, or at any time, you can expect jail, license suspension, and insurance increases. You might also face fines, fees, DUI classes, other expenses that can exceed $10,000.
This checkpoint with the Fremont Police Department is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
