Obtaining Your Ignition Interlock Restricted License

Once you have the Ignition Interlock in your vehicle, a licensed driver must drive your vehicle to your local Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV) office. You must take the installation verification you received from your Smart Start service center to obtain your “II” or “Ignition Interlock” Restricted license. Remember that you may only drive a vehicle with the Ignition Interlock installed.  Your program does not begin until your “II” Restricted license is issued.

TIP: The South Carolina DPPPS will be the overseeing Interlock authority if you have any questions about the program. You can email them at [email protected] or call 803-734-0019.
